UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 2018 PSUAC All-Conference Softball team has been announced, as more than 40 student-athletes from 10 campuses received recognition for their contributions on the field.
Penn State Hazleton's Samantha Varela captured the conference Player of the Year award, as the versatile player led the league in home runs with 10 and finished in the top 10 in average, runs and RBIs. Penn State Beaver's Vanessa Jackson earned Pitcher of the Year honors after leading the league in innings pitched, wins and ERA.
Brooklyn Wagner of Penn State Mont Alto was the Newcomer of the Year after a solid campaign batting .530 with nine doubles, four triples and two home runs while driving in 32 runs.
John Miller earned Coach of the Year after leading Fayette to a share of the PSUAC West Division crown, going 15-5 in PSUAC play and 22-13 overall.
All-Conference awards are voted on by the league's coaches.
