Penn State Schuylkill Falls on the Road in High-Scoring Battle with Cairn
Lead-In:
Despite offensive sparks throughout the lineup, Penn State Schuylkill couldn't keep pace with a red-hot Cairn offense in a 23-8 road loss.
Game Recap:
In a game that saw a combined 31 runs and 26 hits, Penn State Schuylkill dropped to 10-11 on the season after a tough outing at the Stillman Complex. Cairn jumped ahead early, scoring in each of the first three innings and capitalizing on big swings—including a three-run homer by D. Jackson and a three-run triple by B. Gagnon. Schuylkill clawed back with multi-run innings in the third and ninth, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Brenan Adams and late-game production off the bench, but the deficit proved too large. Seven different pitchers toed the rubber for Schuylkill as they worked to contain a potent Cairn lineup that plated seven in the fifth and six more in the seventh to seal the result.
