Schuylkill Walks Off in Game 1, Drops Extras in Game 2 Split with PSU Scranton

Game 1 Recap:
Penn State Schuylkill used late-game heroics to secure a thrilling 4-3 walk-off win over PSU Scranton in the opening game of Saturday's PSUAC doubleheader at Blue Mountain High School. Down 3-1 entering the bottom of the seventh, Schuylkill sparked a rally when Dan Zimmerman singled and eventually scored on a Kevin Rodriguez RBI single. With two on and two out, Owen Zimmerman stepped up and delivered a clutch two-run double to the right-center gap, sealing the comeback win. On the mound, Tristan Baer went the distance, scattering five hits and striking out five to earn the complete-game win.

The nightcap turned into a high-scoring back-and-forth battle that extended into extra innings, but PSU Scranton capitalized on late miscues to hand Schuylkill a tough 10-8 loss in 10 innings. Schuylkill built an early 7-0 lead through four innings, powered by Brandon Pupek's three-run home run and a pair of RBI hits from Kyle Kaminski and Roman Cieless. Scranton stormed back with a six-run sixth to tie it, and after trading solo runs, they pulled ahead for good with two in the 10th. Despite a 17-hit effort, Schuylkill couldn't respond late, splitting the doubleheader.
