Penn State Schuylkill to Compete in the 2019 NAIA A.I.I. Championships

The Penn State Schuylkill Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will compete in the 2019 NAIA A.I.I. Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas. This will be the first time any Penn State Schuylkill athletic team has participated in NAIA postseason play since the campus officially became a member of the college athletics association in July of 2018.

The women's team, fresh off their third consecutive PSUAC Championship, finished the season ranked 6th in the A.I.I. with the men's team ending the season ranked 4th. The women's team saw strong performances this season from Joahlana Najunas (Freshman/Shenandoah, PA), Brin DeAngelo (Junior/Ringtown, PA), and Melissa Ramirez (Senior/Lost Creek, PA) while the men's team was led by Willie Streisel (Sophomore/Mahanoy City, PA). Both teams will be vying for a chance to compete in the NAIA Cross Country National Championships which take place on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington.
