Previous Profession Coaching Muldowney is a retired social studies teacher of 30 years at Blue Mountain School District along with being the former mayor of the City of Pottsville from 1990-1998

The Muldowney Story

  • Currently Ranked 24th in runners who have broken the 3:00 barrier in the marathon for five decades
  • A National Class competitive runner since 1976, owning a personal best marathon time of 2:22:54. A veteran of 54 marathons, 48 under the 3:00 mark, and 12 under 2:30. Competed 16 times in the Boston Marathon
  • Muldowney is an author  of two books about running:
    • ‘Running Shorts,’ published in 2011
    • ‘Personal Best,’ published in 2014.
  • Muldowney since 1988 has been a writer of Health and fitness for the Republican Herald newspaper
  • Favorite hobbies: running, cycling, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with his dogs.
  • Favorite Pro Athlete: Former Celtic Bill Russell
  • Favorite Quote: “Make each day your personal best.”
