Women's Soccer Players Receive All-Conference Accolades

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. - Seven players were honored on the 2023 Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference Team for their play throughout the 2023 season.

Zoe Gannon (Leesport, PA / Schuylkill Valley) secures her third consecutive spot on the PSUAC All-Conference First-Team and earns her second Defensive Player of the Year accolade. Gannon's impressive goal tally of 9 places her tied for 7th in the PSUAC. Additionally, Gannon clinched the second spot in the PSUAC for assists, boasting a total of 8.

Gannon achieved her season-high of 2 goals on three separate occasions, notably in the 7-0 triumph against the University of Valley Forge and two commanding victories against Penn State Hazleton. Gannon was named the PSUAC Player of the Week on October 24th.

Nia Bronson (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove), making her second appearance on the all-conference list, shares the second spot in the PSUAC assists category with Gannon. Bronson's goal count of 7 positions her at 10th in the conference. In their decisive 14-1 victory over Penn State Hazleton, Bronson delivered a season-best 5 assists.

Also earning her second appearance on the all-conference team is Brittney Bartasavage (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area). Bartasavage finished 6th in the PSUAC for goals, securing 10 in 12 games played. Bartasavage ranked third in the conference for goals per game and played a crucial role in Schuylkill's 7-0 triumph over Penn State Beaver by scoring 4 of the 7 goals.

Grace Fenstermacher (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM) garners first-team honors following her impressive tally of 11 goals during the season, ranking 4th overall in the conference. Fenstermacher also holds the 4th position in assists with a total of 6. Her season-best performance saw her scoring three goals in a victory over Penn State Hazleton.

Victoria Grimm (Jonestown, PA / Northern Lebanon Area), Haley Sypniewski (Mount Carmel, PA / Mount Carmel Area), and Mackenzie Miller (Auburn, PA / Nativity BVM) all received recognition on the PSUAC All-Conference Second-Team. Grimm secures her spot after concluding the year with 103 saves and a save percentage of .757, both ranking second in the PSUAC. Sypniewski showcased strength on the defensive side throughout the season, while scoring two goals on the year. Miller, who earned PSUAC Player of the Week honors, concluded the year with a notable three-goal performance in Schuylkill's season opener against Valley Forge, accumulating a total of 9 goals on the season. Miller's goal tally ties for 7th in the PSUAC alongside Gannon. She also boasts the highest shot on goal percentage (.852) among players with at least 10 shot attempts on goal.
