Cross Country Teams Recognized for Sweep of PSUAC Invitational with Dominant Victories

The Penn State Schuylkill Cross Country teams delivered an extraordinary performance at the PSUAC Invitational, capturing first-place finishes in both the Women's 6000 Meters and Men's 8000 Meters races. Their impressive display of determination, endurance, and teamwork solidified their dominance on the course.

The Women's 6000 Meters team showcased their strength with a commanding overall team victory, earning an outstanding score of 15. Leading the charge was senior Malak Mowafi, who secured an impressive 3rd place finish with a time of 29:24. She was followed by freshman standout Farangiz Kholmatova in 5th place and fellow freshman Abby Purcell, who delivered a strong performance to claim 7th. Bolu Akinrinade fought hard to take 10th place, while Jessica Cecil (12th), Hanna Bulles (13th), and senior leader Nadia King (15th) added to the team's incredible depth and strength. With these remarkable finishes, the PSU Schuylkill women's team claimed the championship title.

Not to be outdone, the Men's 8000 Meters team also delivered a dominant performance, securing first place overall with a team score of 21. Sophomore Ashton Owens led the way with a phenomenal race, capturing 1st place with a winning time of 28:16. Matthew O followed closely behind with an impressive 3rd place finish. Aramis Rosario Gonzalez (9th), Ronald Kanyangarara (10th), Tyrone Chambers (14th), Hadir Boswell (16th), and Steven Cope (18th) rounded out the team's top finishers, cementing PSU Schuylkill's championship victory.

Penn State Schuylkill is incredibly proud of both teams for their dedication, perseverance, and outstanding achievements. Their success at the PSUAC Invitational is a testament to their hard work and team spirit.
