Kaylee Berkheiser has been leading the Penn State Schuylkill women's soccer team for five years and has built a strong, competitive program rooted in hard work and passion. A Blue Mountain High School graduate, Berkheiser played soccer all four years before continuing her academic journey at Shippensburg University where she earned a degree in accounting, later followed by an MBA from Kutztown University. Under her leadership, the team made history by winning the first PSUAC Championship in school history, a moment she describes as her favorite memory. That success earned her the honor of 2024 PSUAC Coach of the Year.
"My goal is to get back to the PSUAC Championship," Berkheiser said, reflecting her drive to keep the program pushing forward. She emphasizes respect and passion as the foundation of her team's culture. "Respect for teammates and coaching staff, and a real passion for the game are key," she added. Berkheiser balances her coaching career with a full-time job as an accountant and owns a pet services business, a fun fact most players may not know. Outside of work, she enjoys fishing, kayaking, woodworking, and spending time with her three dogs.
Grateful for the support around her, she said, "Thank you to the athletics staff for keeping our teams running. Thank you to my players for trusting me to be your coach." Berkheiser's dedication to her players and the program continues to shape a competitive and supportive environment at Penn State Schuylkill.
