Kayla Felty returned to Penn State Schuylkill in August of 2023 as the Director of Athletics. Felty previously worked at Penn State Schuylkill from 2019 to 2022 as the Assistant Athletic Director for Eligibility and Recruitment.

Born and raised in Schuylkill County, specifically Pine Grove, Kayla's roots run deep. A graduate of Nativity BVM High School, she shone as a four-sport athlete and was inducted into their hall of fame. With a staggering tally of 18 league medals, 18 district medals, and 5 state championship medals across 4 sports and 13 events, Kayla's name remains etched as the most decorated athlete in Nativity athletics history.

Her athletic journey continued at Villanova University where she played softball and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree. Subsequent to this, she graduated from West Chester University, playing basketball and securing a Master of Science degree in Sport and Athletic Administration.

Kayla's vast athletic experience includes her tenure at Guilford College as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and Assistant Sports Information Director. This was followed by an 8-year stint at Bryn Athyn College, where she was charged with building the women's basketball program with an inaugural season in 2013.  She was celebrated as the NEAC Coach of the 2016-17 season with a 20-6 season.

During her time away from Schuylkill, Felty took on the role of a K-6 STEAM teacher at Minersville Area Elementary, continuing to positively impact the Schuylkill County community.

Kayla will be inducted into the Southern Schuylkill Tubby Allen-Chet Rogowicz Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame this October.

She currently resides in Pine Grove with her fiancé, Derrell, who currently serves as the Offensive Coordinator of the football team at Thiel College, and her two sons, Jaxon (lovingly called "Crash") and Jett.
