Schuylkill wins historic opener.

 The debut of Penn State Schuylkill's baseball program has arrived as the Lions traveled to play Lehigh-Carbon for the first game in program history. In the first inning, Schuylkill allowed the Cougers to jump out to a 4-0 advantage. The Lions would finally strike in the top of the third, when Jordan Blankenhorn(Pine Grove) singled for the first hit for Schuylkill, later in the 3rd, Blankenhorn would also score the first run on a bases loaded rbi ground out by Bryan Dimon(Pine Grove). An RBI single by Josh Whalen(Pottsville) and a throwing error by LCCC's 3rd baseman allowed Schuylkill to tie the game up at 4-4.

At that point, starting pitcher Patrick Killian(Blue Mt.) and reliever Dylan Holland(Tri Valley) settled in holding the Cougers scoreless over the final 4 innings. Schuylkill's offense however was just getting started scoring 10 unanswered runs, making the final margin 14-4.
