Schuylkill advances to the PSUAC Final Four.

Middleport, PA

Penn State Schuylkill open the PSUAC Playoffs in the East Division Play In Round as the #2 Seed, hosting the #3 seed Penn State York. After jumping out to and early 3-1 lead on the power of three solo homeruns of the bats of Tyler Starry, Juan Familia and Kyle Kaledas, suspect play on the defensive side of the field allowed PSU York to tie the game at 3-3 in the top of the sixth. With the game still knotted at 3-3 in the top of the 7th, it was another Schuylkill miscue defensively that allowed York to take their first lead of the game at 4-3. With new found momentum York retired Dakota Bitner on a ground ball to 3B. After a walk to Familia, Gaetano Visconti flew out to RF for the ssecond out of the game. Down to their final out, Matt Roberts was hit by a pitch, and Nick Jacoby hustled out an infield single to stay alive, loading the bases for third baseman Karlos Joseph, who was hitless at that point. Down to his final strike, Joseph came through for Lions, delivering a season saving walk off grand slam to give Schuylkill the 7-4 victory.

With the win Schuylkill advances to play West Division #1 Seed PSU Dubois, Sunday May 7th at 12 PM at Matt McGloin Field on the Campus of PSU Worthington Scranton.
