Baseball Falls to Mid Atlantic Christian

DUBOIS, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Baseball lost in the elimination round of the USCAA World Series to Mid Atlantic Christian.

Mid Atlantic Christian caught fire in the bottom of the fourth inning, capitalizing on two doubles and three singles, ultimately resulting in four runs. In the top of the fifth inning, Tristian Baer's (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg Area High School) double was succeeded by Jared Sterner's (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg Area High School) single. A sacrifice by Chris Duffy (Perkasie, PA / Lansdale Catholic High School) brought Baer home, narrowing Schuylkill's deficit to 4-1. Mid Atlantic Christian extended their lead by one more run in the bottom of the inning with a home run.

Nate Gilbert (Shoemakersville, PA / Hamburg Area High School) countered with a home run of his own in the top of the sixth inning, reducing Schuylkill's deficit to 5-2. Owen Zimmerman (Shoemakersville, PA / Hamburg Area High School) drove in the final run of the game in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded before Schuylkill received their final out.

Gilbert contributed a home run for Schuylkill, while RayJay Marmolejos (Wyomissing, PA / Wilson High School) and Baer registered doubles.
