Penn State Schuylkill Men's Basketball powered through a competitive opening stretch to defeat Central Penn College 103-84. Despite trading baskets early in the first half, the Lions seized control midway through the period and never relinquished the lead.
The game opened with multiple lead changes, as both teams exchanged baskets during the first five minutes. Central Penn's Dahsan King hit a three-pointer to briefly give his team a 3-2 edge, but Schuylkill quickly responded with a three-pointer by Andrew Sepp to retake the lead. The Lions extended their advantage behind sharp shooting from Isaac Lane, who notched 25 points, including several key buckets to halt Central Penn's attempts at a comeback.
The Lions dominated the boards with a 36-17 rebounding advantage, and their efficient offense helped them break the game open late in the first half, building a double-digit lead. In the second half, Schuylkill pushed the pace and expanded their lead to as much as 30 points, thanks to contributions from Makhi Jones (16 points, 5 rebounds) and Amir Gray (14 points off the bench).
Central Penn's efforts were spearheaded by Dahsan King, who finished with 20 points, but their inability to contain Schuylkill's offense proved too much. Schuylkill's depth was on full display as they shot an impressive 58.7% from the field, with five players scoring in double figures.
The Lions look to carry this momentum into tomorrow's PSUAC matchup at PSU DuBois, tipping off at 3 PM.
