Golf Opens USCAA Nationals with Steady Team Performance

The Penn State Schuylkill men's golf team turned in a balanced effort to kick off the USCAA National Championship at University Park.

Cole Yelinek led the Lions with a 78, followed closely by Rylen Matlock's 79. Matlock also made it to the final round of the putting skills competition, showcasing his short-game touch among the tournament's best.

Branson Devitt and Bryce Peiffer-Lesher each carded 85s, while Hayden Lee and Hogan Troutman both finished with solid 88s—Lee also represented Schuylkill in the longest drive competition earlier in the day.

The Lions' total score of 330 places them in strong position heading into tomorrow's second and final round, where they'll look to climb the leaderboard and close out their fall season on a high note.
