SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Men's Soccer fell in their home opener to NCAA Division III opponent University of Valley Forge, 4-1.
Zack Wilcox (Covington, PA / North-Penn Mansfield) opened the scoring for Schuylkill early in the match, finding the back of the net at the 6:23 mark of the first half with an assist from Chris Parlaman (Spring City, PA / Owen J. Roberts). Valley Forge then took control for the next several minutes, attempting six shots, four of which were saved by Bryce Hensley (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Blue Mountain). They eventually notched their first goal of the game at the 22:30 mark of the first half. Valley Forge maintained their offensive pressure throughout the period, finishing the half with 15 shots.
Valley Forge took the lead at the 74:55 mark after firing off eight prior attempts and added two more goals in the final five minutes to put the game out of reach.

Schuylkill (0-2 overall, 0-0 PSUAC) will return to action this Saturday as they host NCAA Division III opponent Gwynedd Mercy University. Start time is 2:30 p.m.
