Penn State Schuylkill men's soccer opened its season on the road at Keystone College, where a young roster with many new faces showed grit in a tough 7–0 loss.
The match was marked by physical play on both sides, with six yellow cards issued as the teams battled in a scrappy contest. Keystone struck twice in the first half before pulling away late, while the Lions continued to fight until the final whistle.
Despite the scoreline, goalkeeper Bryce Hensley turned in a strong effort with nine saves, facing 39 total shots. Offensively, Michael Merianos registered both of Schuylkill's shots on goal, while Mario Ortiz added two attempts to keep pressure on Keystone's defense.
With many new players adjusting to the college game, the Lions showed energy and resilience. The coaching staff emphasized that the opener was a valuable test as the team works to build chemistry and prepare for conference play.
