Ireland’s Four-Goal Outburst Lifts New Kensington Past Schuylkill

Penn State Schuylkill men's soccer ran into a red-hot Penn State New Kensington offense on September 20, dropping a 7–1 PSUAC road match despite a remarkable effort in goal from Bryce Hensley.

New Kensington struck early, scoring twice in the opening eight minutes. Jacob Moser answered in the 23rd minute for Schuylkill, finishing an unassisted chance to cut the deficit to 2–1. But the hosts responded quickly, with Jayson Ireland completing a first-half hat trick and adding a fourth goal after intermission.

Daniel Garcia and Taber Driscoll also found the back of the net for New Kensington, which fired 47 shots and kept constant pressure on the Schuylkill defense. Hensley turned aside 22 shots to keep the Lions within striking distance as long as possible.

Schuylkill will look to regroup when it returns to conference play next week.
