Men's Track & Field Competes in Coach Pollard Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Men's Track and Field competed in the Coach Pollard Invitational hosted by Moravian University.

Matthew O (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM High School) set the pace in the longer distance, finishing 17th in the men's 5000-meter run with a time of 17:05.14.

Moving to the sprints, Keith King Jr. and Ethan Jennings represented in the 100-dash prelim. King secured 44th place with a time of 12.19, while Jennings followed closely behind in 53rd place with a time of 12.86. In the 200 dash finals, King finished 36th with a time of 24.38, with Jennings close behind in 54th place with a time of 26.03. Ashton Owens (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove Area High School) also showcased his speed in the 200 dash finals, finishing 40th with a time of 24.74, and Lamine Diop (Cincinnati, OH / Finneytown High School) secured 51st place with a time of 25.90.

Transitioning to the longer endurance events, Owens displayed his stamina in the 3000-meter steeplechase, claiming 16th place with a time of 11:35.71. Aramis Rosario-Gonzalez (Columbia, MD / Glenelg County High School) competed in the 10000-meter run, finishing 10th with a time of 39:35.57.

In the middle-distance races, Pascal Deppisch (Danville, VT / Danville High School) tackled the 1500-meter run finals, finishing 32nd with a time of 4:44.53, while Rosario-Gonzalez finished 42nd with a time of 5:10.55. Lamine Diop (Cincinnati, OH / Finneytown High School) represented in the 800-meter run, securing 41st place with a time of 2:14.33.

Turning to the field events, Steven Cope (Frackville, PA / North Schuylkill High School) demonstrated his prowess in the pole vault, claiming 5th place with a height of 13' 1¼" in a pool of 11 competitors. Diop also competed in the high jump, securing 9th place by clearing a height of 5' 8¾". In the shot put Finals, Ivan Magny-Garcia finished 26th with a throw of 22' 6¾".
