MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Schuylkill Men's Cross Country competed in the 5th Annual Bud Smitley Invite at Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday. Matthew O (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM) and Ashton Owens (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove) placed in the top 10 for the event.
O led the pack for Schuylkill, placing 5th place overall for the event. O completed the 5k course with a time of 17:44.2 seconds, maintaining an average mile pace of 5:43.3 seconds.
Owens also made a significant impact by securing a spot in the top 10 finishers. Ashton completed the 5k race with a time of 18:26.1 seconds, maintaining an average mile pace of 5:56.9 seconds.
Schuylkill continued to impress with two more runners breaking into the top 15. Samuel Davenport (Lebanon, PA / Lebanon) completed the course in 19:18.3 seconds, while Aramis Rosario-Gonzalez (Glenelg Country / Columbia, MD) finished closely behind with a time of 19:29.0 seconds.
