Men's Cross Country Wins PSUAC Invitational; Ashton Owens Sets New Course Record

DUNMORE, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Men's Cross Country claimed victory at the PSUAC Invitational for the second consecutive year on Saturday. Ashton Owens took first place and set a new course record with a time of 28:16.6. Additionally, Senior Matthew O was recognized.

Schuylkill had an impressive four runners finish in the top 10, with Ashton Owens (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove) not only winning the race but also setting the course record, finishing nearly 40 seconds ahead of his closest competitor. Joining Owens in the top 10 were Matthew O (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM), Aramis Rosario-Gonzalez (Columbia, MD / Notre Dame), and Ronald Kanyangarara (Pottstown, PA / Owen J. Roberts), each achieving personal bests for Schuylkill.

Additionally, Tyrone Chambers (Ashland, PA / North Schuylkill) and Steven Cope (Frackville, PA / North Schuylkill) also achieved new personal bests during the event.

Schuylkill's next competition will be at Lock Haven University on November 2nd, where they will participate in the Go Fast River Run.
