Softball Falls To Hilbert

MYRTLE BEACH, Sc. – Penn State Schuylkill Softball faced Hilbert College in the second half of their Sunday doubleheader at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.

A single at the bottom of the second inning drove in the first two runs of the contest, giving Hilbert an early 2-0 lead. There were three consecutive scoreless innings until Hilbert was able to drive in the final two runs of the game at the bottom of the sixth inning.

Kaely Walshaw (Dornsife, PA / Line Mountain High School) finished 2 for 3 at the plate of Schuylkill. Emma Crisswell (Williamstown, PA / Williams Valley High School) recorded a single for Schuylkill while striking out 12 opponents on the mound.

Schuylkill (0-2 overall, 0-0 PSUAC) will return to action on Tuesday as they will compete in a doubleheader beginning with a matchup against Baker University at 9:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. contest against Bay Path University.
