Penn State Schuylkill Dominates Penn State Hazleton in Conference Matchup

In front of an enthusiastic home crowd, Penn State Schuylkill women's basketball team delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Penn State Hazleton 83-51 in a PSUAC conference game on Tuesday evening. The win improves Schuylkill's record to 14-4 overall and 12-1 in conference play.

Schuylkill jumped out to an early lead, outscoring Hazleton 21-10 in the first quarter and never looking back. They continued to dominate on both ends of the court, with their defense forcing 22 turnovers and converting them into 21 points. The team also controlled the boards with an impressive 53-21 rebounding advantage, including 21 offensive rebounds leading to 23 second-chance points.

Leading the way was Tajae Stevenson, who recorded a double-double with a game-high 30 points and 13 rebounds, adding 4 steals and 1 block to her stat line. Serena Jones also had a strong showing, contributing 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Ava Novak joined the double-double club with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Nadia King chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. The bench provided a spark as well, with Malak Mowafi scoring 6 points in 24 minutes of action.

Penn State Hazleton's Brianna Kennedy led all scorers for her team with 22 points and 8 rebounds, but the visitors struggled to find consistent offensive production against Schuylkill's relentless defense.
