Washington Adventist Hands Lady Lions their First Loss of the Season

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. - In an evenly fought matchup between Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer and Washington Adventist, Washington Adventist emerged victorious with a final score of 3-1.

The opening moments of the game showcased both teams determination to secure a win, with a flurry of shots and saves. However, it was Washington Adventist who broke the ice, finding the back of the net at 33:38 mark.

The shot matchup between both teams during the first period were pretty even. Washington Adventist totaled 14 shots with Schuylkill finishing with 12 shots for the half. Victoria Grimm (Jonestown, PA / Northern Lebanon Area) displayed her exceptional skills between the posts, recording 8 saves during the period.

Washington Adventist continued to attack during the second period and was able to find the back of the net at 63:29, extending their lead to 2-0. After 20 plus minutes of back and forth action, Washington Adventist scored their third goal of the contest at 85:56.

In the final moments of the contest, Schuylkill was awarded a penalty kick. Nia Bronson (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove) stepped up to take the spot-kick and slotted it past the Washington Adventist goalkeeper, ending the game with a score of 3-1.

Schuylkill (1-1 overall, 0-0 PSUAC) will return to action this Sunday as they host NJCAA opponent Montgomery College (MD). Start time for the contest will be at 12:00 p.m.
