Women's Soccer Drops First PSUAC Matchup to Penn State Brandywine

MEDIA, Pa. - Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer took on Penn State Brandywine on Tuesday in what was their first PSUAC conference game of the season. Penn State Brandywine went on to defeat Penn State Schuylkill in a close matchup.

The game kicked off with Penn State Schuylkill taking the early lead as Nancy Le (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin East) scored the first goal of the contest at the 4:47 mark, assisted by Mackenzie Miller (Auburn, PA / Nativity BVM). Penn State Brandywine quickly responded, as they found the back of the net just a minute later. The game was off to a rapid and competitive start.

The first period saw a flurry of shots from both sides, with Schuylkill totaling 11 shots while Brandywine managed 5.

As the second period got underway, Brandywine came out aggressively, launching four shots before scoring their second goal of the contest at the 62:47 mark. This goal gave Brandywine their first lead of the contest. Brandywine continued to apply pressure as they went on to extend their lead, finding the back of the net again just 10 minutes later, making it 3-1 in their favor.

Brittany Bartasavage (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area) scored a crucial goal at the 81:58 mark, narrowing the gap for Schuylkill. Brandywine managed to hold onto their lead, and the final score stood at 3-2 in favor of Penn State Brandywine.Top of Form Brandywine totaled 16 shots for the contest while Schuylkill finished with 11.

Schuylkill (1-2 overall, 0-1 PSUAC) will return home for their next contest against NCAA Division III opponent Wilson College on Monday, September 18th. Start time for that contest is 4:00 p.m.
