Women's Soccer Loses 6-3 to Penn State Brandywine

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer fell to PSUAC opponent Penn State Brandywine, 6-3.

The contest started with Brandywine taking an early lead, scoring three of their six goals within the first 15 minutes. Nia Bronson (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove) broke the ice for Schuylkill, finding the back of the net at the 27:21 mark.

Brandywine continued to capitalize with two more goals at 35:16 and 35:36. Just when it seemed Brandywine was pulling away, Nancy Lee (Harrisburg, PA / Central Dauphin East) quickly responded with a goal only 10 seconds later, bringing the score to 5-2 in an intense 30-second exchange.

Schuylkill continued to fight, closing the gap to 5-3 as Evelyn Crall (Chillicothe, OH / Chillicothe) found Brittney Bartasavage (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area) at the 40:19 mark, concluding an exciting first period. Despite Brandywine's early lead, Schuylkill dominated the shot matchup with a count of 12 to 6.

The game remained intense in the second period, but Brandywine secured their final goal at the 76:31 mark. Brandywine matched their first period shot total of 6 in the second half.

Schuylkill (6-6 overall, 4-3 PSUAC) will begin their three-game road stretch this Sunday against Penn State Hazleton. Start time for that contest is 12:00 p.m.
