Women's Soccer Falls in Close Matchup To Washington Adventist

TAKOMA PARK, Md. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer fell to NAIA opponent Washington Adventist on Wednesday.

The game kicked off with Washington Adventist taking an early lead, netting their first goal at the 4:33 mark of the first period. Despite both teams trading shots, Washington Adventist extended their lead to 2-0 with another goal at 15:56.

The first period saw Washington Adventist holding a slight edge in the shot matchup, leading 7-4. Washington Adventist maintained a slight advantage on shots during the second period as well, winning 9-6.

Schuylkill mounted a comeback effort, with Grace Fenstermacher (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM) finding the back of the net at the 73:09 mark, bringing the score to 2-1. Despite Schuylkill's late goal and the momentum they gained, Washington Adventist managed to hold on and secure the victory with a final score of 2-1.

Schuylkill (7-7 overall, 5-3 PSUAC) will travel to Central Penn for their next matchup on Friday, October 20th. Start time for that matchup is 5:00 p.m.
