Schuylkill Women’s Soccer Falls in Season Opener at Valley Forge

Phoenixville, Pa. – September 3, 2025
Penn State Schuylkill women's soccer opened its 2025 campaign on the road at NCAA Division III University of Valley Forge, creating plenty of offensive chances but ultimately falling 3–1.

The Lions outshot the Patriots 33–7, including a dominant 22 shots on goal, but were frustrated by a strong goalkeeping effort from Valley Forge, which tallied 21 saves. Schuylkill's lone goal came from Leah Alexander, who found the back of the net in the first half to level the score.

Despite generating steady pressure with 6 corner kicks and keeping play largely in the attacking third, the Lions were unable to convert on additional opportunities. Valley Forge capitalized on its chances, scoring once before halftime and twice in the second half to secure the win.

Defensively, Kay Lee Morgan recorded 2 saves in goal for Schuylkill, while Nia Bronson, Madison Warnack, and Olivia Dress were among those creating offensive pressure with multiple shots on frame.

The Lions (0–1) will look to regroup and build off their promising attack as they face their first PSUAC matchup on September 9 against Penn State Hazleton.
