Penn State Schuylkill women's soccer continued their strong start to conference play with a 2–1 home victory over Penn State Mont Alto on Tuesday afternoon at Schuylkill Haven. The Lions used a balanced attack and a strong defensive effort to secure their fourth straight PSUAC win.
First Half:
The Lions generated early pressure with chances from Grace Fenstermacher and Madison Warnack, but Mont Alto's goalkeeper turned away multiple shots to keep the game scoreless. In the 26th minute, Nia Bronson broke through, capitalizing on a loose ball to score unassisted and put Schuylkill up 1–0. The Lions held Mont Alto to just six first-half shots, with goalkeeper Victoria Grimm making key saves to protect the lead.
Second Half:
Schuylkill doubled its advantage in the 67th minute when Fenstermacher buried a penalty kick after drawing contact in the box. Mont Alto responded quickly, with Kaylen Gracey scoring in the 73rd minute off an assist from Cameron Dillow to cut the deficit to 2–1. The Lions defense, led by Olivia Dress, Abigail Klokis, and Haley Sypniewski, held strong down the stretch as Grimm finished with six saves on seven shots on goal.
