Women's Track & Field Performs at Moravian University

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Penn State Schuylkill Women's Track & Field competed in the Coach Pollard Invitational hosted by Moravian University this past weekend.

Megan Hauser (Lehighton, PA / Lehighton Area High School) showcased her strength with a 16th place finish in the shot put Finals, tossing 30' 7½" among 33 competitors. She continued her solid performance in the discus throw, securing 24th place with a distance of 90' 2¼".

Malak Mowafi (Iselin, NJ / John F Kennedy High School) displayed her endurance, taking 12th place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 15:07.02. She also competed in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 25th.

JiaYi Gong (Ashland, PA / North Schuylkill High School) represented in the 1500-meter run, finishing 34th with a time of 6:08.08, while Farangiz Kholmatova (Fergana, Uzbekistan / The Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan) finished close behind in 38th place with a time of 6:44.54. In the 800-meter run, Gong finished 39th, clocking in at 3:03.11, with Kholmatova following in 42nd place with a time of 3:25.33.

Evelyn Louca (Westfield, PA / Cowanesque Valley High School) tackled the 400-meter hurdles, securing 24th place overall. In the javelin throw, Hauser finished strong with an 11th place finish, hurling the javelin 80' 7½" among 19 competitors.
