LANGHORNE, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Cross Country finished seventh overall at the Highlander Invitational 6k hosted by Cairn University.
Felician University secured the top position at the event, finishing with a cumulative time of 2:11:53, earning a team score of 22. Felician claimed spots 2-5 and placed seven runners in the top ten overall. Clarisse Hayden from Cairn was the first to cross the finish line, clocking in at 24:38.6.
Malak Mowafi (Iselin, NJ / JFK Memorial) finished in the top 20, securing 19th place with a personal season-best time of 29:16.9. Farangiz Kholmatova (Fergana, UZB / Uzbekistan) was the next runner to finish for Schuylkill, completing the race in 31:27.3, which earned her 28th place overall.
Nadia King (Harrisburg, PA / Susquehanna Township), Jessica Cecil (Lusby, MD / Patuxent), and Hanna Bulles (Reading, PA / Exeter) all achieved season-best performances at the event. King saw improvement from her previous best time of 47:59.1, cutting it down to 41:43.5. Cecil also made significant strides, lowering her time from 48:11.11 to 42:35.4. Schuylkill finished with a team score of 169.
Schuylkill will run in the Jack Saint Clair Memorial next on Saturday, October 12th.
