The cream has risen to the top as Penn State Schuylkill sophomore Wilvens Fleurizard has been named the NAIA Continental Athletic Conference's men's basketball Player of the Week after being the conference's leading scorer as the 2021-22 calendar turns past January.
The guard has scored 509 points to average 24.2 points in 21 games this season.
That scoring average climbed after the Coral Springs, Florida, native had 29 points in a victory against Penn State Scranton. He shot 56% from the floor, grabbed nine rebounds, added four assists, and recorded four steals in the game.
For the season, Fleurizard is shooting 57.6% and averaging 7.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.1 steals per contest.
Penn State Schuylkill stands 9-12 on the season after posting an 8-7 home record this winter.
