How It Happened
The game started off quiet, with no points scored until almost three minutes in. These points were put up by Hazleton's Paul Feisel after he made a jump shot followed by a three-pointer. Hazleton then nearly took a double-digit lead with 10:43 left in the half. After an aggressive comeback by Schuylkill, they took the lead in the final seconds of the half after an and-one jump shot by Wilvens Fleurizard making the score 29-26, with Schuylkill holding the lead going into halftime
In the second half, Schuylkill looked to extend their lead to secure the win. However, Hazleton worked to always keep the score within five points, and briefly held a one-point lead at 47-46 with 9:19 left in regulation. Schuylkill's Ryan Worrell then sank a three-pointer for Schuylkill to regain the lead and never look back. Schuylkill went onto a 10-point lead with 2:42 left in the game. Penn State Schuylkill defeated Penn State Hazleton in the first round of the PSUAC tournament 69-56.
