Penn State Schuylkill Student-Athletes Receive USCAA Recognition

Alyssa Gerber of Penn State Schuylkill is the USCAA Women's Softball Player of the Week. Gerber was once again a dominate force for PSU Schuylkill in six games of action this week, including a 3-1 PSUAC record for the week. She hit an impressive .400 with eight hits including one double. She also drove in seven runs to help Schuylkill to a 5-1 week. She recorded 14 putouts and 13 assists, including turning two double plays with no errors in six games of play.



Kaely Walshaw of Penn State Schuylkill is the USCAA Women's Softball Pitcher of the Week. Walshaw made 3 appearances in the circle this week, finishing with a 2-1 record. In those 3 games, she threw 2 complete games for 16 innings. Giving up 16 hits, 6 earned runs and striking out 15, Walshaw was able to help her team to 2 wins. Posting an ERA of 2.63, and pitching a shutout victory over PSU Brandywine, Walshaw helped her team secure a 20-9 record so far with a 12-4 conference record. She not only helped her team from the mound but from the plate as well, bringing in 8 RBI's and scoring 6 runs, she was a powerhouse from all side.


Men's Baseball Pitcher of the Week | Jake Leininger, Penn State Schuylkill

Jake Leininger of Penn State Schuylkill is the USCAA Men's Baseball Pitcher of the Week. In 1 appearance, Leininger was able to help secure the win for Schuylkill by throwing 7 innings, giving up 0 runs, and striking out 5. In his 1 game, he gave up only 3 hits and helped secure the shutout victory. For the week, Leininger not only helped from the mound but helped from the plate as well having 3 hits, 1 homerun, 1 RBI, and scoring 1. The team is the #1 seed in their conference and has posted an overall record of 14-9 and a conference record of 12-3.
