Baseball Splits With Henry Ford College At Ripken Experience

MYRTLE BEACH, Sc. - Penn State Schuylkill Baseball split their doubleheader matchup against Henry Ford College down at the Ripken Experience – Myrtle Beach, SC. Schuylkill won the first matchup 5-4, and fell to Henry Ford 8-1 in the second matchup.

The first matchup between the two programs was a nail biter, with Schuylkill scoring a total of four times in the 7th inning to claim the victory. Jake Leininger (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove) scored his third home run of the season while finishing with two hits for Schuylkill. Ethan Naftzinger (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg) also finished with two hits. Chase Herb (Hegins, PA / Tri-Valley) and Patrick Ryan (Pottsville, PA / Pottsville) tallied two RBI's in the victory. Ryan's two RBI's came at the top of the 7th inning on a single hit. Evan Kosar (Shenandoah / Shenandoah Valley) won his first college pitching matchup in the victory.

In the second matchup, Schuylkill was unable to recover from Henry Ford's dominant second inning, where they scored a total of 6 times. Owen Zimmerman (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg) tallied the lone RBI for Schuylkill in the loss.
