Baseball Named PSUAC Team of the Week, Baer Earns Weekly Recogniton

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Baseball was named the PSUAC Team of the Week following their hot-streak to end the season. Tristian Baer (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg Area High School) was also named the USCAA and PSUAC Pitcher of the Week for his performance on the mound.

Penn State Schuylkill Baseball finished the regular season on fire, winning eight straight PSUAC conference games and clinching the number one seed in the PSUAC tournament. Schuylkill finished the regular season with a 28-12 overall record, 16-4 in the PSUAC. This season marks the first year in program history surpassing the 24-win threshold. Schuylkill will take on the winner of #3 Penn State Brandywine and #2 Penn State York at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th.

A big reason for Schuylkill's success was Tristian Baer. Against Penn State Hazleton, Baer pitched a complete game, allowing only five hits while striking out eight batters. Baer's performance on the mound gave him PSUAC as well as USCAA Pitcher of the Week honors.
