Men's Basketball defeats Clark Summit

CLARK SUMMIT, PA – Schuylkill took a 7-5 lead with 16:36 remaining in the first half off a Wilvens Fleurizard (Tamarac, FL / Coral Springs High School) layup and maintained their lead throughout the half. Clark Summit tied the game and came within a point on several occasions; however, Schuylkill had an answer for every Clark Summit run.

An 11-5 stretch by Schuylkill gave them a 43-33 advantage with 1:15 remaining in the half. Clark Summit answered with a 6-0 run to bring them within four going into the second half.  

A made 3-point field goal by Clark Summit gave them a 49-48 lead with 16:40 remaining in the contest, their first lead since early in the first haff. Bryce Hensley (Auburn, PA / Blue Mountain High School) immediately answered with a 3 pointer of his own to put Schuylkill back in the driver's seat.

A made jump shot by Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Cantonsville High School) with 12:23 remaining in regulation was the beginning of a 13-2 run by Schuylkill, giving them a 74-59 advantage over Clark Summit. Schuylkill continued to execute late and went on to defeat Clark Summit, 83-75.

Fleurizard led Schuylkill with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Hensley added 16 points and 8 rebounds. Dixon finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Devin Adams (Middle River, MD / Kenwood High School) contributed with 10 points off the bench.

Schuylkill (9-12. 8-3 PSUAC) returns to conference play on Tuesday as take on Penn State Scranton on the road. Tip-off time is set for 6:00 p.m.
