Men's Basketball Falls To Washington Adventist

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, PA - Men's Basketball fell to NAIA opponent Washington Adventist at home on Wednesday, 89-58.

Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Cantonsville High School) got things started for Schuylkill on a made jump shot with 18:42 remaining. A 6-0 run by Adventist gave them a 14-8 advantage with 13:48 to go in the opening period. Schuylkill proceeded to go on a 8-3 run to bring their deficit to 17-16 with 10:36 remaining.  

Schuylkill tied the score at 24 on a made jump shot by Dixon with 6:57 to go in the period. A 9-2 stretch by Adventist gave them a 33-26 lead with 3:28 remaining. Adventist stretched their lead out to 15 by the end of the period, gaining a 47-32 advantage heading into the second period.

A made jump shot by Wilvens Fleurizard (Tamarac, FL / Coral Springs High School) brought Schuylkill within 10 with 16:44 remaining in regulation. Adventist then went on a 12-0 run, pushing their lead to 63-41 with 11:41 remaining. Adventist outscored Schuylkill 42-26 in the second half as they went on to defeat Schuylkill.  

Fleurizard led Schuylkill with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Dixon finished with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Bryce Hensley (Auburn, PA / Blue Mountain High School) added 8 points in the loss.

Schuylkill (11-13. 10-3 PSUAC) will take on #1 seeded Penn State York this Saturday on the road. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
