Softball Falls to D'Youville At USCAA Nationals

DUBOIS, Pa. – Softball fell to D'Youville University at the USCAA Softball National Tournament on Tuesday, 9-1.

A single up the middle at the bottom of the 1st inning drove in D'Youville's first run of the contest. Kaely Walshaw (Dornsife, PA / Line Mountain) successfully ran to home base following a double by Alyssa Youst (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Blue Mountain) at the top of the second to tie the game at 1-1. Back and forth action persisted as double to left field at the bottom of the second drove in D'Youville's second run.

D'Youville scored on their second offensive play of the third as a triple to left field extended their lead to 3-1. A Sac fly a few plays later gave them a 4-1 advantage heading into the 4th inning.  

D'Youville took control of the contest during the fourth as 4 hits ultimately lead to 3 runs. D'Youville added on to their lead at the bottom of the sixth as a single to center field drove in two additional runs. D'Youville went on to close out Schuylkill in six.
