Women's Basketball Dominates Penn State New Kensington, 60-26.

NEW KENSIGNTON, Pa – Penn State Schuylkill women's basketball began Saturday's contest against PSUAC opponent Penn State New Kensington on a 17-0 run. Schuylkill's run in the first period was sparked by a great collective effort on the defensive end, finishing with 11 steals for quarter and only allowing two shot attempts.

Schuylkill would continue their defensive efforts in the second quarter starting with a steal and score from Nadia King (Harrisburg, PA / Susquehanna Township High School). Schuylkill would extend the lead to 31-3 midway through the second quarter on a 13-0 run. A total of six Schuylkill players would score during the quarter.

New Kensington would begin to show signs of fight in the third quarter, scoring a total of 12 points to Schuylkill's 14. However, the deficit was too large to overcome as Schuylkill would continue to dictate the pace for the rest of the contest, defeating New Kensington 60-26.

King led Schuylkill with 15 points on 7-10 shooting to go with 5 steals. Tajae Stevenson (Patterson, NJ / International High School) finished with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Kassidy Ingram (Abington, PA / Trinity High School) added 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals in the victory.
