Women's Basketball Cruises Past Penn State Scranton

DUNMORE, PA - Penn State Schuylkill Women's Basketball outscored Penn State Scranton 41-12 in the first half of Tuesday night's victory over PSUAC opponent Penn State Scranton.

Scranton took an early 4-1 lead off a made jump shot with 8:42 remaining in the first quarter. A 20-2 stretch by Schuylkill gave them a 21-6 advantage heading into the second quarter.

A 12-0 run by Schuylkill to end the second quarter gave them a 29-point lead heading into the second half.

A made jump shot by Tajae Stevenson (Patterson, NJ / International High School) to open up the third quarter pushed the Schuylkill lead to 31. A 13-3 run by Schuylkill gave them a 56-16 advantage with 3:51 remaining in the third.

A 7-0 run by Schuylkill to begin the fourth quarter pushed their lead to 71-24 with 7:10 remaining in regulation. Schuylkill outscored Scranton 24-9 in the final period as they cruised to a 87-33 blowout victory.

Stevenson led Schuylkill with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Jasmine Wright (Sicklerville, NJ / Winslow Township High School) finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds off the bench. Kassidy Ingram (Abington, PA / Trinity High School) added 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Schuylkill (13-7. 10-2 PSUAC) will return home on Saturday to take on NAIA opponent Fisher College. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
