Women's Basketball Defeats Penn State Brandywine

MEDIA, PA – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Basketball lead by as many as 31 in Tuesday nights victory against PSUAC opponent Penn state Brandywine. Schuylkill went on to defeat Brandywine, 76-64.

Schuylkill jumped out to a 12-2 advantage early in Tuesday nights contest. Out of a Brandywine timeout, Schuylkill went on a 9-4 stretch to end the first period.

Six consecutive points scored by Nadia King (Harrisburg, PA / Susquehanna Township High School) to begin the second quarter gave Schuylkill a 27-8 advantage with 6:44 left in the period. Schuylkill's lead was extended to 20 on a made jump shot by Allison Crockett (Liverpool, PA / Greenwood High School) on Schuylkill's next offensive possession.

A 10-2 stretch by Schuylkill was highlighted by an array of made baskets by Tajae Stevenson (Patterson, NJ / International High School). A made jump shot by Serena Jones (New Ringgold, PA / Tamaqua High School) extended Schuylkill's lead to 41-10 with 2:26 left to play in the first half.

Brandywine showed signs of fight in the second half, bringing their deficit to 15 points on a made jump shot with 3:24 to go in regulation. Schuylkill was able to hold on to the lead late and close out the game on the road.

Stevenson led Schuylkill with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Kassidy Ingram (Abington, PA / Trinity High School) finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Crockett notched 14 points in the victory.

Schuylkill (20-8. 15-2 PSUAC) will play their final two regular season games at home. Starting with Penn State Hazleton on Saturday and Penn State York on Tuesday.
