MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Cross Country placed 3rd overall at the Bud Smitley Invitational at Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday. Miranda Hess finished 10th overall for the event.
Miranda Hess (New Columbia, PA / Milton) emerged as one of the standout performers, securing a 10th-place finish overall. Hess completed 5K race with a time of 25:47.8 seconds, showcasing consistent pacing with an average mile of 8:19.3 seconds.
Hot on the heels of Hess was Malak Mowafi (Iselin, NJ / JFK Memorial). Mowafi completed the 5K race with a time of 26:3.9 seconds. JiaYi Gong (Gordon, PA / North Schuylkill) also made her presence felt, claiming a notable 15th-place finish overall. Gong completed the course with a time of 27:58.0 seconds.
Nadia King (Harrisburg, PA / Susquehanna Township) rounded out the top 20 finishers, securing 19th place overall. King completed the 5K with a time of 29:50.5 seconds.
