Owen Zimmerman was named the Penn State Schuylkill Male Athlete of the Year during the Penn State Schuylkill Athletic Awards Ceremony.
The PSUAC Player of the Year ranked first in the PSUAC In hits (65), doubles (20), and finished second in total RBIs with 48. Zimmerman boasted the highest batting average in the league at .477. as well as the highest on-base percentage at .556. On the mound, Zimmerman recorded 45 strikeouts on the year, good for fifth in the conference. In the USCAA, Zimmerman finished first overall in doubles, sixth overall in hits, eighth in RBIs, second in batting average, and third in OBP.
Zimmerman hit his 100th career ball during the season while breaking Penn State Schuylkill’s all-time hits record in a single season with 65 and counting. Zimmerman led Baseball to their first 30-win season in program history.
