Baseball Falls In Opening Day At Ripken Experience

MYRTLE BEACH, Sc. – Penn State Schuylkill Baseball began their trip at the Ripken Experience with a matchup against Northampton Community College on Saturday.

After finishing the first inning up 1-0, Northampton scored seven points during the next frame to take an 8-0 lead heading into the third. Unanswered runs for Northampton during the third and fourth innings gave them an 11-0 edge the rest of the way.

Jared Sterner (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg Area High School) finished 2-2 at bat with a double. Also recording hits for Schuylkill were Aidan Murhon (New Philadelphia, PA / Pottsville Area High School) and Ethan Naftzinger (Hamburg, PA / Hamburg Area High School).

Schuylkill (2-1 overall, 0-0 PSUAC) will take on College of Dupage Sunday, March 3rd at 12:00 p.m. followed by a matchup with Penn State Beaver at 3:00 p.m.
