Schuylkill Haven, PA
The Penn State Schuylkill Lady Lions continued their strong play to close out the regular season. Schuylkill rolled past Hazleton 76-56 on the way to securing the #4 seed in the upcoming PSUAC Tournament. This will be the first playoff appearence for the Lady Lions since 2011,a season that ended in an opening round loss to Fayette 75-58. The 10-4 PSUAC record is also the best mark for the Lady Lions since the 2006-07 team that went 15-2 in PSUAC play falling to PSU Beaver in the Conference Championship.
Schuylkill survived a 29 point effort from Hazleton's Mckenzie Prutsman, getting a balanced attack that saw three players reach double-figure scoring, led by seniors, Caitria Bowen with 16, and 12 apiece from Makenna Rushannon and Nicole Sacco. Rushannon also added 15 rebounds. Schuylkill had all 9 players tallied in the boxscore.
The win will allow #4 Schuylkill to host the opening round match-up with #5 Penn State York at 6 PM.
