Schuylkill powers past Beaver, 4-1.

Schuylkill Haven, PA

Penn State Schuylkill women's soccer program was able to secure their first win in program history, with a 4-1 victory over PSU Beaver.

The game was scoreless until Schuylkill's Rieley Reed broke down the sideline and around Beaver defenders ripping a shot off the finger tips of Beaver goalie Brittany Kahn, finding the back of the net.

Schuylkill's second goal would come when defender Brianna Felty scored from 30 yards away, over Kahn and into the goal.

Schuylkill would continue the first half pressure, once again Reed raced down the sideline crossing the ball into a well timed run by Cassondra Smith who flicked the ball into an open net, 3-0 Schuylkill.

The second half became a defensive battle as the rains continue, becoming heavy at times.  Midway through the half Schuylkill Andrea Slotterback raced through the Beaver defense and tallied Schuylkill's final goal, making the score 4-0.

Beaver would answer back as Edisa Bukuru would not be denied, scoring past Schuylkill's goalie Megan Boyer. Boyer had 11 saves on the day, as she her strong play this season.
