GALLOWAY, Nj. - Penn State Schuylkill Men's Cross Country competed in the Osprey Open hosted by Stockton University on Saturday. Schuylkill completed the 8k course with an average team time of 32:05.93, placing them 11th overall for the event.
Pascal Deppisch (Danville, VT / Danville) emerged as the front-runner for Penn State Schuylkill in the demanding 8k course. Deppisch completed the course at 28:50.65 seconds, which ranked him 52nd place in a competitive field of participants.
Hot on Deppisch's heels was Matthew O (Schuylkill Haven, PA / Nativity BVM) who crossed the finish line at 30:18.48. Samuel Davenport (Lebanon, PA / Lebanon) made an astonishing leap in his performance, compared to his previous 8k run. Just a week ago, he clocked in at 42:30.30 seconds. In this week's event, Davenport completed the 8k with a time of 33:18.82 seconds. Also making improvements to their time were Steven Cope (Frackville, PA / North Schuylkill) and Ashton Owens (Pine Grove, PA / Pine Grove).
