Previous Profession Coaching Muldowney is a retired social studies teacher of 30 years at Blue Mountain School District along with being the former mayor of the City of Pottsville from 1990-1998

The Muldowney Story
- Currently Ranked 24th in runners who have broken the 3:00 barrier in the marathon for five decades
- A National Class competitive runner since 1976, owning a personal best marathon time of 2:22:54. A veteran of 54 marathons, 48 under the 3:00 mark, and 12 under 2:30. Competed 16 times in the Boston Marathon
- Muldowney is an author of two books about running:
- ‘Running Shorts,’ published in 2011
- ‘Personal Best,’ published in 2014.
- Muldowney since 1988 has been a writer of Health and fitness for the Republican Herald newspaper
- Favorite hobbies: running, cycling, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with his dogs.
- Favorite Pro Athlete: Former Celtic Bill Russell
